Kolakulathadi Choornam is a herbal powder, prepared to the formula recorded in Sahasrayogam Choorna Prakarana.
Classically it belongs to the vata group of preparations used where the joints and muscles are the concern — stiffness, restricted movement and the ordinary aching that comes with age or hard use. Its named constituents include sesame oil, castor oil, devadaru, vacha.
It is traditionally warmed and applied externally as a poultice, never taken by mouth. Preparations of this kind are judged over weeks rather than days.
