What a tablet gains, and what it gives up
The trade is worth stating plainly. A liquid kashayam is prepared and measured as it has been for centuries, and many practitioners hold the traditional form to be the better one. A tablet is that same recipe, concentrated. What is lost is the ritual and, some would argue, a degree of the effect. What is gained is that the course is finished.
The shelf also holds Kairali's own capsules, developed at our Kerala factory. These are modern preparations rather than classical ones, standing on our own formulation work rather than on a text, and each product page says so. Where a product carries a classical name, that name is the recipe it follows.
Three groups here
- Kashayam tablets — Classical decoction recipes in tablet form. The largest group, and the practical way into traditional Ayurveda.
- Gulikas and vatis — Classical tablets in their original form — always made as tablets, never converted from a liquid.
- Kairali capsules — Our own formulations, made in Kerala. Modern rather than classical, with less textual history behind them.
Always read the label and directions on the pack you receive, and speak with your physician before starting anything new — particularly if you are pregnant, nursing, managing a health condition or taking prescription medicine.
