Seven shelves, and every product sits on exactly one
Grouped by the form a preparation takes. Kerala works from without and within, and the same concern is often met by more than one of these.
What each form asks of you
The seven shelves divide the whole catalogue by what a preparation physically is, and the division is strict: every one of the hundred and twenty-two products sits on exactly one shelf. That makes this the right way in when you already know the form you will actually use, and the wrong way in when you only know what is bothering you.
The choice matters more than it looks. An oil asks for ten minutes and a towel, and it marks fabric. A tablet asks only to be remembered. A kashayam is the older form, genuinely bitter, and taken to the schedule the label sets. None is the more serious purchase.
Three ways a preparation reaches you
- Applied β Herbal Oils & Balms, and Bath, Body & Hair. Local, immediate, and easy to judge for yourself within a fortnight.
- Taken by mouth β Tablets & Capsules, Herbal Decoctions & Teas, and Syrups, Tonics & Herbal Jams. The longer commitment, and the one to raise with a physician.
- Prepared β Herbal Powders, bound into cloth and warmed, or mixed as the label directs. A therapy-room technique more than a rub-on product.
Always read the label and directions on the pack you receive, and speak with your physician before starting anything new β particularly if you are pregnant, nursing, managing a health condition or taking prescription medicine.
