Haridra Khandam is a herbal jam (lehyam), prepared to the formula recorded in Bhaishajya Ratnavali, Sheetapitta-Udarda-Kotha Chikitsa.
Classically it sits within regimens for the skin. Ayurveda reads the skin as a report on what lies beneath it, and works inward as readily as outward. Its named constituents include amla, ginger (shunthi), long pepper (pippali), musta.
It is traditionally taken by mouth. Preparations of this kind are judged over weeks rather than days. Read the label and directions on the pack you receive, and speak with your physician before starting anything new — particularly if you are pregnant, nursing, managing a health condition or taking prescription medicine.
